You can use anything that’s in season or available near you. The darker leafy green vegetables contain lots and lots of antioxidants that are vital in protecting against cancer. Many of these leafy greens are easier to digest when cooked and your body has to do less work to extract the vitamins and minerals from them. Cooking leafy greens is very easy. Pour a little oil into the pan and allow it to get hot. Add mustard seeds, garlic, cumin, black pepper and salt as required. Throw the leafy green pieces into it and stir for a few minutes.
Blueberries
Next, we have blueberries. These little dark berries are packed with antioxidants that help against cardiovascular disease and cancers too. Blueberries also help with our skin and hair. Blueberries are also packed with Vitamin C which is good for boosting immunity. If blueberries are not available you can use pomegranate or cherries basically any other dark berry, even blackberries too.
Olive Oil
You might have heard about the Mediterranean diet. A key component of the Mediterranean diet is olive oil. A good quality extra virgin olive oil is filled with antioxidants. This is anti-inflammatory but unlike other oils which contain saturated fats olive oil actually has fats in them that can help reduce bad cholesterol and increase good cholesterol. So having olive oil every day can really help keep your heart healthy.
Better not to cook with olive oil on high heat for a long time. You can use sauteing vegetables or making a salad just drizzle it over. When it is used in raw form, it is absorbed best into our body and the nutrients are more available.
Seeds
You must seeds daily because all of them contain different vitamins, minerals or omegas. You can either drizzle them into a smoothie, or oatmeal or make pudding.
Chocolates
Lastly, we have good old chocolate. It is important to eat things that you enjoy and make you happy in some way. You can eat everything in moderation consciously and mindfully making sure that you’re not too excessive on it. Don’t cut out things that you love just know how to eat them in moderation.
