One day, Spot and Fluffy decided to go on an adventure. They waited until their human family was busy and sneaked out of the house. They ran into the woods behind the garden. They had never been there before and they were excited to see what they would find.
They saw many interesting things, like birds, squirrels, flowers, and mushrooms. They chased each other and played hide and seek. They climbed trees and dug holes. They sniffed and licked everything they could.

The spot quickly ran back to the stream and jumped in. He swam to Fluffy and grabbed her by the scruff of her neck. He pulled her out of the water and onto the shore.
“Are you okay, Fluffy?” Spot asked.
“I’m okay, thanks to you, Spot,” Fluffy said.
They hugged each other and shivered. They were wet and cold.
“Let’s go home,” Spot said.
“Okay,” Fluffy said.
They ran back to the house as fast as they could. But they didn’t notice that they had left muddy paw prints on the ground.
Their human family was waiting for them at the door. They were worried and angry.
“Where have you been? We’ve been looking for you!” their human mom said.
“We’re sorry, Mom. We went on an adventure and got lost,” Spot said.
“We won’t do it again, Mom. We promise,” Fluffy said.
Their human mom sighed and smiled. She hugged them and dried them with a towel.
“We’re glad you’re safe. We love you very much,” she said.
“We love you too, Mom,” Spot and Fluffy said.
They learned their lesson and never went into the woods again without their human family. They were happy and content with their home and each other.
